A) move into a small apartment or condo near public transit: you should be able to find either for around $ 600 a month (including maintenance fees).
B) Use either public transit or buy (NOT LEASE!) either a very small car or, better yet, a scooter or small motorcycle. The smaller and cheaper the vehicle, the less you will have to spend on gas, repairs, and insurance.
C) When you drive anywhere, try to get almost everything done in one trip. If you go out shopping early on day and back to that area later to pick up your kid, for example, you’re using twice as much gas as you have to to get those chores done.
D) Stop any sort of highly monthly bills. Don’t pay for cable TV, landline phone, or normal cell phone plans. Get a cellphone plan like Jitterbug ($ 10 a month fixed rate) and then keep your minutes down…and use the internet for as much communication as you can.
E) instead of say, buying new clothes a lot…by very few clothes in strategic styles and colors that work well together and are well made. Wrangler cargo pants (abotu $ 15 at Wal-Mart), for example, are priceless: they last forever and, in dark colors, can double as work pants.
F) STOP EATING OUT. You wouldn’t believe how much money most people spend eating out…much more than they do on groceries.
G) Obviously, pay off all your credit cards. Actually, don’t use them at all. Concentrate your life on things like getting/staying in shape, enjoying the outdoors, and talking with friends: it’s much cheaper and, once you get used to it, also much more fun. Getting a bicycle or good skates for about $ 100 is a great idea so far as things you can buy once and enjoy again and again “forever”.

  3. the first place to start is with your food:

Use coupons on everything you buy. Only use trusted sites like http://brandnamecoupon.com to find and buy your coupons.

Shop more often and buy less food. This way, you food won’t go to waste. Most people buy hundreds of dollars of food at once and half of it goes bad before it’s eaten.

Get in the habit of investing money or “spending on savings”
For instance, start buying gold instead of renting movies or collecting games and dvds. Check out this article:

I’ve been buying gold from that site for a while and it’s totally replaced all the wasteful spending habits I used to have.

Save money on utilities. Buy energy efficient bulbs and turn off lights when you leave a room. Turn off the heat and put on a sweater. Turn off the AC and open a window.

Believe it or not, by doing these few simple things I’ve saved $ 6K in only 7 months.

  4. Ive been saving money by not eating out as much, buying the cheaper products at the grocery store, putting money in the bank when I can, not buying things I dont need…ect.*
